From Barcelona to Sitges: the weekend party route

Quick answer

Take the R2 Sud train from Barcelona (Estació de França, Passeig de Gràcia or Sants) to Sitges: about 35-45 minutes and around €5 one way. Trains stop around midnight, so to get back after a night out take the N30 night bus to Plaça Catalunya or a taxi (about €60-90). The best plan: beach in the afternoon, dinner in the old town, bars on the main party streets, then back to Barcelona or sleep over.

The route: a full Saturday

  1. 1pm — Train down. Leave from Passeig de Gràcia to skip the crowds at Sants.
  2. 2-7pm — Beach. Sitges has calm, clean beaches a few minutes from the station.
  3. 7-9pm — Aperitivo by the sea. Watch the sunset by the church on the seafront.
  4. 9:30pm — Dinner in the old town. Book on weekends.
  5. 11pm onward — Bars and clubs. The nightlife is concentrated in the centre, so you walk everywhere.
  6. Late — Back to Barcelona or sleep over. N30 bus, taxi, or your hotel.

Where to stay

If you go out late, sleep in Sitges. You avoid the night bus and get a beach morning. Book early for summer weekends and festivals.

Plans you can't miss

  • Sitges Pride in late spring, with the town’s famous LGBTQ+ nightlife.
  • Sitges Film Festival in October.
  • Summer beach and pool parties from June to September. See pool parties.

Festival dates change every year.

Sitges or Barcelona for a party weekend?

Barcelona has bigger clubs and more choice every night. Sitges is smaller, walkable and feels like a beach holiday. The best weekend has both: Friday in Barcelona, Saturday in Sitges.
