Common mistake: the R2 Nord goes to the airport. For Sitges, the board must say R2 Sud.
Check Rodalies and the night-bus timetable on the day: schedules change by season.
The route: a full Saturday
- 1pm — Train down. Leave from Passeig de Gràcia to skip the crowds at Sants.
- 2-7pm — Beach. Sitges has calm, clean beaches a few minutes from the station.
- 7-9pm — Aperitivo by the sea. Watch the sunset by the church on the seafront.
- 9:30pm — Dinner in the old town. Book on weekends.
- 11pm onward — Bars and clubs. The nightlife is concentrated in the centre, so you walk everywhere.
- Late — Back to Barcelona or sleep over. N30 bus, taxi, or your hotel.
Where to stay
If you go out late, sleep in Sitges. You avoid the night bus and get a beach morning. Book early for summer weekends and festivals.
Plans you can't miss
- Sitges Carnival in February, one of Spain’s biggest.
- Sitges Pride in late spring, with the town’s famous LGBTQ+ nightlife.
- Sitges Film Festival in October.
- Summer beach and pool parties from June to September. See pool parties.
Festival dates change every year.
Sitges or Barcelona for a party weekend?
Barcelona has bigger clubs and more choice every night. Sitges is smaller, walkable and feels like a beach holiday. The best weekend has both: Friday in Barcelona, Saturday in Sitges.
